Converting HEIC to PDF: FAQ

What is a HEIC file?+

It is the format an iPhone saves photos in by default. It keeps quality at a smaller size, but most websites, forms and Windows programs cannot open it, which is why converting comes up so often.

Are my photos uploaded?+

No. The photos are decoded and put into the PDF inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters for personal photos and photographed documents.

Can I put several photos in one PDF?+

Yes. Add as many as you like and they become one PDF with a page per photo, in the order you added them.

Will the photos lose quality?+

There is one conversion step, because a PDF cannot hold a HEIC photo directly. It is saved at a high quality setting, so the difference is not visible at normal viewing size.

Can I mix in ordinary JPEGs?+

Yes. Drop JPEG or PNG files in alongside the HEIC ones, which is handy when a camera roll export has a mix. They are added as they are.

Which page shape should I pick?+

Match the page to the photo when the PDF is just for viewing or sending. Choose A4 when it will be printed or attached to a form, so every page is a standard size.
