Rotate PDF pagesfree, fast, private
Turn one sideways page or the whole document 90°, 180°, or 270°. The angle is written into the saved file, so it stays fixed for whoever opens it next.
The rotation is applied in your browser. Your PDF is not uploaded to a server, and the corrected file saves straight to your device.
Free to use: one PDF at a time, up to 50 MB. 10 free files a day across every tool, and no watermark on the saved file.
Drop your PDF
Drag and drop a PDF onto the upload card or click to browse.
Rotate
Use the buttons under each thumbnail, or rotate every page at once.
Save the rotated PDF
Click Save and the corrected file downloads right away.
How to rotate pages in a PDF
Rotating every page is one click. The questions people actually arrive with are about single pages, upside-down scans, and why a rotation done in a viewer never seems to save.
Open the PDF and see every page
Drag one PDF onto the upload card, or click it to browse. Files up to 50 MB are fine.
Every page is drawn as a thumbnail so you can see which ones are sideways before you touch anything. The thumbnails turn as you rotate, so what you see is what gets saved.
Rotate all pages at once
The row above the thumbnails sets one angle for the whole document: 90, 180, or 270 degrees. This is the right move for a scan where the feeder took the whole stack in sideways.
Rotate only one page
Each thumbnail has its own pair of arrows underneath. Click the right arrow to turn that page a quarter turn clockwise, the left arrow for counterclockwise. Pages you never click are left exactly as they were.
Rotate a PDF 90 degrees left
The left arrow under a page does one quarter turn counterclockwise, which is the same as 270 degrees clockwise. Click it once for a page whose top edge is currently on the right.
Turn an upside-down page the right way up
That is a 180 degree turn: two clicks of either arrow, or the 180 button if the whole document is upside down. This is common with double-sided scanning, where every second page comes out inverted.
Fix a landscape scan that should be portrait
A page scanned in the wrong orientation is not actually the wrong shape, it is the right shape turned on its side. One quarter turn puts the text upright and the page reads as portrait again.
Undo a rotation before saving
Reset clears every angle you set and puts the document back to how it arrived. It does not straighten anything on its own: it means no change from the original. Clicking an arrow four times gets a single page back the same way.
Why my last rotation did not stick
Most PDF viewers have a rotate button that only changes what you are looking at. Close the file and it is sideways again, because nothing was written to disk.
This tool writes the angle into the saved file, so the page opens correctly for whoever you send it to, in any viewer.
Does rotating make the file bigger or blurrier
Neither. The page keeps the same content and gains one small instruction about which way up to draw it. Nothing is re-rendered, so text stays sharp at any zoom and the file size barely moves.
Rotate a password-protected PDF
A file locked with a password cannot be read until the lock comes off, so the upload card turns it away with a link. Remove the password first, rotate the plain copy, then protect it again if you need to.

Rotate pages after combining several files
Merged documents often mix orientations, because each source was scanned differently. Merge first, then rotate the odd pages here in one pass rather than fixing each file separately.

Straighten pages before running text recognition
Text recognition reads a page the way it is stored. If the page is sideways, the results are poor. Rotate the pages upright first, then run recognition on the corrected file.

Rotate and reorder in the same sitting
Rotation and page order are separate jobs here. Save the rotated file, then open it in the page organizer if the sequence also needs fixing.

Rotate a PDF on a phone
The page runs in a mobile browser with no app to install, and the thumbnails stack into a grid you can scroll. A long document takes a moment to draw every thumbnail on a phone, which is the one place you will notice the wait.
Rotating PDF pages: FAQ
How do I rotate PDF pages online for free?
Drop your PDF, click the rotate buttons under each page (or rotate everything at once), and save. The rotation is permanent in the saved file.
Is the rotation done in my browser?
Everything runs client-side in your browser. Your file is not uploaded to any server.
Can I rotate just one page?
Use the per-page rotate buttons under each thumbnail. Pages without an explicit rotation are left untouched.
Will rotating a page change its quality?
Rotation is a property stored on the page: it tells the viewer which way up to draw. The page content itself is not redrawn or re-rasterized, so nothing softens.
Does the rotated PDF have a watermark?
No, not on any plan. The saved file is your document turned the right way up, with nothing added to the pages.
How many PDFs can I rotate in a day?
The free plan covers 10 finished files a day, shared across every tool, resetting at midnight UTC. Pro removes the count. The rotation still runs on your own machine, and each file can be up to 50 MB.
