Split a PDF online:separate pages into their own files

Drag one PDF onto the upload card, or click it to browse. The file can be up to 50 MB, and the page count shows up as soon as it is read.

The file is read straight into the browser tab. There is no upload step, so a 40 MB scan is ready about as fast as a two-page letter.

Pick "By ranges" and type the ranges you want, like 1-3, 4-7, 9. Each range becomes its own PDF, named after the pages it holds.

Single pages are allowed in the same box. Typing 1, 5, 9 gives you three one-page files. If a number is larger than the page count, the tool says so instead of guessing.

There is no dedicated half button, and you do not need one. A 40-page document splits down the middle with the range 1-20, 21-40. "Every N pages" with N set to half the total does the same thing in one number.

Use this when the document is made of equal chunks: two-page invoices, four-page contracts, six-page lab reports. Set the pages-per-file number and the tool tells you how many files you will get before you run it. The last file holds the remainder if the total does not divide evenly.

"Each page" mode turns a 30-page document into 30 one-page PDFs, each named with its page number.

One honest warning: your browser gets 30 separate downloads in a row. Most browsers ask permission once, then allow the rest for that session. The downloads are spaced out slightly so nothing gets dropped.

The source file is never changed. Splitting reads it and writes new files, so the original on your disk stays exactly as it was. If you only want one page and not the leftovers, the extract tool is a faster way to click through it.

Most split tools work by sending your document to their servers, cutting it there, and deleting the copy after some hours. For a bank statement, a payslip, or a signed contract, that is a copy you cannot see and cannot check.

An encrypted PDF cannot be read until the password comes off, so the upload card turns it away and offers a link instead. Remove the password first, then split the unlocked copy.

You can do it by hand here if you know the page ranges. If the statement runs across several months and you would rather not count pages, the statement splitter reads the dates and cuts it for you.

Page content, images, and fonts are copied across as they are, so nothing is re-rendered and nothing loses quality. Bookmarks that point at pages outside a range have nowhere to land, and interactive form fields can be flattened when pages move into a new document. Fill a form before you split it, not after.

If you cut too finely, the merge tool joins the parts back into one document. Splitting and merging are both lossless, so a round trip does not degrade the pages.

Each split file carries the fonts and images that its pages actually use, and a shared font or a full-page background gets copied into every piece that needs it. That is normal. Running a piece through compression trims the leftovers.

The page works the same in a mobile browser, with no app to install. Pick the PDF from your files app, a cloud drive, or a chat attachment. On a phone, splitting into many single pages is awkward because of the download prompts, so ranges are the friendlier mode there.
