Convert PDF to JPGfree, fast, private

Drop one PDF on the upload card, or click it to browse. The file can be up to 50 MB. The tool reads the page count first, so you can see what you are about to convert before anything runs.

Nothing is uploaded. The pages are drawn on a canvas inside the browser tab and saved as JPG from there, which is why there is no progress bar for an upload and no wait for a server queue.

A PDF page has no fixed pixel size. It is a set of drawing instructions, so the sharpness of the JPG comes from the resolution you render at, not from the PDF itself.

Pick 3x (216 DPI) when the image will be zoomed, printed, or cropped. 2x (144 DPI) is the sensible default for screens and email. 1x (72 DPI) matches the PDF's own point grid and is only worth using when file size matters more than detail.

Almost always the quality setting. At 1x a page renders at roughly 595 by 842 pixels, which looks soft the moment anyone zooms in. Convert again at 2x or 3x and the same page comes out two or three times wider.

The other cause is the source. If the PDF is a photo of a document taken on a phone, the blur is already baked into the page, and rendering at 3x just gives you a larger copy of a blurry picture.

The tool converts every page in one pass, then shows a thumbnail for each. Click the page you want and only that JPG downloads. You do not have to take the ZIP.

If the PDF is long and you only care about a couple of pages, pull those pages into a smaller PDF first, then convert that. It is faster and the filenames stay tidy.

Each page becomes its own JPG, numbered in page order, and the whole set comes down as one ZIP. A 30-page report gives you 30 files named after the original document, so they stay sorted when you unzip them.

File size follows resolution closely. Going from 3x to 2x usually cuts the size of each image by about half, and 2x to 1x cuts it again. For an email attachment or a web upload, 2x is normally the right trade.

If you need the pages small but still want them in one document, convert to JPG at a lower setting and rebuild the PDF, or compress the original PDF instead.

A scan converts fine, because a scanned page is already a picture. What you get back is that picture at the resolution you chose. Rendering above the scan's own resolution will not add detail that was never captured.

That is expected. A JPG is pixels, so every letter on the page becomes part of the image. If you need the words back as text, run the PDF through OCR before converting, or use the text extractor on the original file.

JPG compresses, so the files are small, and photos and shaded backgrounds look good. Fine text and thin lines pick up faint smudging around the edges at normal quality levels.

PNG is lossless. Text stays crisp and diagrams keep hard edges, but the same page can be several times larger on disk. For a contract, an invoice, or a chart, PNG is usually the better choice.

Every page is painted on a white backdrop before it is drawn. JPG cannot store transparency at all, so without that step any empty region would come out black. A white page is the honest result.

A PDF locked with a real password cannot be opened for rendering, so the tool stops and offers you the unlock page instead of handing back blank images. Remove the password first, then convert the unlocked copy.

The tool runs in the mobile browser, so there is no app to install. Pick the PDF from your files, cloud drive, or a chat attachment. On a phone, stick to 2x for long documents. Rendering a 100-page file at 3x asks a lot of a phone's memory.

The images come out clean. FileHook does not stamp a mark, a logo, or a corner badge on exports, on any plan, so a converted page can go straight into a slide deck or a listing.

If you converted a page to edit it and now want a document again, the images can go back into a single PDF, one image per page, in whatever order you set.
