Converting Word to PDF — FAQ

Does my Word file leave my device?+

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — your .docx is parsed and rendered to PDF on the same machine you uploaded it from. Nothing is sent to a server.

What formatting is preserved?+

Text, bold, italic, underline, colors, headings, paragraphs, lists, simple tables, images, and hyperlinks all carry over. Headers, footers, footnotes, equations, and tracked changes are best-effort — anything we couldn't convert exactly shows up as a warning on the result panel.

Why are some Word files harder to convert?+

Word documents that lean heavily on advanced layout features — multi-column flows, anchored floating shapes, equations, custom field codes — translate imperfectly to a clean PDF page. We render the body content faithfully and surface any dropped features in the result rather than failing the conversion.

Does .doc (the old format) work?+

Only .docx is supported. The legacy binary .doc format is a different file structure — open it in Word and save as .docx, then drop it here.

Is there a file size limit?+

Yes — 25 MB. That covers the vast majority of resumes, contracts, and reports. Bigger files would tax your browser's memory during the render step.
