A free-to-edit, in-browser PDF editor that does what desktop apps charge $14/month for: text edits, Smart Fill (snap a photo of a form, auto-fill the fields), signatures, page operations, forms, password protection, and PII auto-redact. All without an account and without uploading your file to a third-party server for processing. Exports are clean on every plan. What's actually different about this one
- Editing runs in your browser. Most online PDF editors POST your file to a server, edit it there, and send a rasterized copy back. We do the work in your browser via PDF.js + pdf-lib. Files transit a short-term store (auto-deleted in 2 hours) only so we can render the initial canvas.
- Free to edit, no signup. Every editing tool works for free, with no daily cap and no account, and exports are clean, with no watermark, even on the free plan. Pro ($3.99/month) adds power features like full-year bank statement splitting and all 20 invoice templates.
- PII auto-detect. One click and we scan every page for emails, phone numbers, SSNs, Luhn-validated credit cards, IBANs, IPs, and URLs, then place redactions automatically. We're not aware of another free tool that does this.
- Real AcroForm fields. Forms exported from the editor are interactive in any PDF reader, not just visual overlays.
