Does it pull the GSTIN out of the receipt?+

Yes — when the receipt prints GSTIN, it shows up as a separate column you can include in the CSV or Tally XML. HSN codes per line item are kept too.

CGST + SGST or IGST — how do you decide?+

We read whichever the receipt prints. Intra-state receipts print CGST + SGST (usually 9% + 9% or 2.5% + 2.5%) — both lines come through. Inter-state receipts print IGST (18% or 5%) — single line.

Does the rupee symbol come through correctly?+

Yes. The CSV download uses UTF-8 with BOM so ₹ renders correctly in Excel on Windows and in LibreOffice / Numbers on Mac.
