What size should a LinkedIn profile photo be?+
LinkedIn asks for at least 400x400 pixels, square. Anything smaller gets upscaled and turns soft. The LinkedIn preset here crops 1:1 and exports 1200x1200, which stays sharp on retina screens and survives LinkedIn's compression.
How do I resize a headshot without stretching it?+
Crop, don't scale. Pick the target ratio first (1:1 for LinkedIn and avatars, 4:5 for cards, 3:4 for ID badges), position the face inside that frame, then export. The presets lock the ratio so the face cannot distort.
